Spring is in the air!

Hi all!! I hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather like we are! With spring comes making our yards look decent again and we have a long way to go. We will be giving our back yard a face lift this summer so stay tuned.
We have had a lot going on and our summer is filling up fast.
Michael's Birthday was February 24th and he celebrated by going skydiving! YES, he jumped out of a plane to welcome the big 28.
His friend Matt joined him on this adventure
He came back in all one piece and loved the falling feeling, but kinda got "sea" sick during the floating down part. Lets hope this keeps him from jumping again ;) While he was being a dare devil I was baking my first cake for his birthday. It was a box cake but nonetheless I had not made one before. It turned out really good and I got rave reviews from our neighbors when we shared.
We enjoyed an early dinner with the girls at one of our favorite restaurants in town. It was a good day!!

Since Colt has been outside a lot he has been tearing up our yard a bit so we have stopped playing fetch with him (which is his favorite game ever) in the yard. We now take him to a little park by our house to let him stretch his legs. It was a little windy on this day, but we are looking forward to many more times at the park with the family.

We packed up and headed to Columbus once again. Jamie and Russell had a baby shower at our Aunt and Uncle's camp house!! It is getting closer and closer to baby Stewart's arrival and we are super pumped! We had a great time celebrating Jamie and Russell and the baby. The girls got to see a lot of family and were little angels even staying up passed their bed time.

Meme, cousin Grace, and Jax
We also got to spend time with Casey on Friday night! We went to eat in Columbus and then her and Ryan came out to my mom's house to visit more with us. We miss our Casey living in NB so we try to see her every we chance we get in Columbus.
Jaxyn, Casey, and Kairyn

Me and Jax at Casey's (she's waiting patiently for her turn with the yogurt)
That Sunday was so pretty so we spent a lot of time playing with the girl's outside at mom's. They were trying out an exersauser I picked up for Jamie.

Kai says its working great

Jax says it passed her approval for baby Stewart
A couple of weeks ago we enjoyed a visit from our friend Jaun. I met him when I worked in San Antonio at a pediatric clinic and we have remained great friends! He always comes bearing gifts for the girls!  <3
Kai, Juan and Jax
We have had Michael's mom Cindy in town the past 2 weekends! This has been a treat for all of us! The first weekend we were able to see Cindy and cousins of Michael's that were in town on their annual NB trip. The girls loved all the company and we had a great time visiting with everyone and of course sharing in another wonderful meal cooked by Cindy. This past weekend Michael staffed an ACTS retreat so Cindy and Caitlynn came down to help me with the girls. We had a great girly weekend and enjoyed Cindy's cooking immensely once again! (She is so good to us, she even made us a roast to have for the upcoming week). So good to see y'all! We are also excited to have Caitlynn come down this summer for an extended period of time!

cousin Noah, Jax, and Kai

Noah being silly :)

They will be great friends/cousins one day soon!

yep 3 babies under one roof :) it was so fun!

What The Girls are up to:

My little angels are growing so fast and learning so much! We are still eating breakfast at 7:30 that involves fruit, cereal, and a bottle, Lunch at 12:00 with a veggie and fruit and just recently added chicken and chicken gravy (bought, I have not yet made meat and I'm not sure I know how to do this, but we will see) and a bottle. A bottle at 4:00 and maybe some greek yogurt or little graduate snacks and dinner is at 7:00 with veggies, fruit, oatmeal, and a bottle. They take two 1 hr to 1 1/2 hr naps a day and cat nap from around 6:30 to 7:00 at night (which we are slowly starting to get rid of) and still sleep all night long (we often have to wake them for breakfast= bliss). They have loved every food we have given them with the exception of sour plums. see video below ;)

They are still in love with the Baby First network so we have had to limit their tv watching already! When they aren't watching tv they are playing in their jumping swing and walker or SITTING UP playing with toys/touchpad. They love the games we have put on our touchpads for them! They have gotten pretty good at sitting up on their own! Their sitter Ashley works with them a lot and they seem to really like seeing the world this way.

such big girls
They have gotten really good with their hands and are grabbing everything within their reach (including my hair multiple times a day). Their pacifiers don't stand a chance of not being in their mouths if they are anywhere near them. They love those things..ugh this is bitter sweet, I know it is comforting to them, but I foresee this being a habit that will be hard to break. For now they help mom and dad keep their sanity ;)

We are working on signing "all done", "more", "eat" and "please". I use the graduate snacks to work on "more" and to work on their pincher grasp. Jaxyn is motivated by food, but I'm thinking I may need to find something else to motivate Kai. You can tell from the video that we are not pros at this yet. :)

They aren't crawling yet but definitely don't stay put when you lay them down on the floor. We have gotten rid of the Miracle Blanket so they move around like crazy in their cribs to get comfortable or search for their pacifiers. They love being in their cribs and know that is the place for sleeping. When it is nap time we put them in the cribs and they are out within 5 minutes. We know this may not always be the case so we are soaking it up now.
We have also gotten rid of their bath seat during bath time so we now have a mat that goes on the bottom of the tub that helps them have traction and they love splashing and watching the water move.

Kai has recently start talking!! This speech therapist, mommy couldn't be happier!! Of course I wasn't expecting /da da/ to be her choice of sounds when we had spent so much time working on /ma ma/ ;) hehe.

As you can tell Jaxyn was not amused!

Here are some more pictures and videos:
